This is part two of my room decorating odyssey with Pittsburgh Paints & Stains. The apartment is still coming together overall, but in order for me to fully move into my own bedroom, I needed to spruce up the walls! After calling in the professionals, I finally have a pretty escape to call my own.
My room started off as a kind of off semi spearmint color with quite a bit of flaking and smudges from previous owners. It wasn’t the worst color in the world, but I wasn’t overly happy with it either, and it was my original intention just to paint it white. But with the help of the Pittsburgh Paints team, and their very cool online inspiration, I changed my mind!
With all the natural light and the bay windows, I was hoping to add a beachy and relaxing vibe with brighter colors. Once I found the bedding I liked, I knew I would need a somewhat contrasting color on the walls to make both the bedding and my white furniture really pop! Turns out, Viva la Bleu was the perfect one for me and my room.
Next it was the big day! My roommate helped me move all of my furniture to the center of the room, and the painting began. Thankfully, the whole process went smoothly, (without too much harm or spilling on my part) and in a few hours I had my own little oasis, courtesy of Pittsburgh Paints and a little elbow grease.
The the unpacking and organizing began! As a beauty and fashion hoarder, I loved how my products and sparkles looked against the light blue of the walls. I actually ended up bringing more of them out of makeup bags and under bed boxes to display my favorite books, magazines, necklaces and skincare products as decor throughout my room.
I still have a few finishing touches left to go (including an upcoming Etsy arrival I am very excited about) but overall I already feel so much more at home in my room. It is exactly the way I wanted it to turn out, and the walls are the perfect color for my vision as well as my existing bedding and furniture.
