Venexiana leaves a lasting impression on us every single time! Launched in 2003, Venexiana is known for its rock-n-roll couture, offering exquisite fabrics, focused on tailoring and embellishments. Designer Kati Stern, a jack of all trades, is not only a renowned designer, but also a professional architect, classically trained pianist, and avid flamenco dancer. “There is a big parallel,” Stern said when comparing her work in architecture to fashion. “It’s space. I enjoy space. To me, that translates into a form. So, designing clothes and designing houses is a very parallel thing to do.”
Each year the Venexiana show at Fashion Week draws in a large crowd – and with reason! Kati Stern knows exactly what it takes to deliver a phenomenal show, as she successfully executes with her couture red carpet gowns. Unveiling 70 designs on the catwalk each season, the Spring/Summer 2013 Collection featured evening wear and cocktail gowns, with a summer inspired color palette of warm shades of coral and orange, to deep turquoise and midnight blue. Working closely with Jeffrey Reitz for Tela Design Studio by Philip Pelusi, the beauty of the designs are brought to light by the striking and intricate up-do’s. Dubbed “Rockin’ Royalty “because it’s royal, it’s regal, it’s elegant and it rocks the house,” says Philip Pelusi – and it did just that! Combined with lush fabrics and her own spin on classic cuts, Stern incorporated tulle, hand beading, gorgeous feather and sequin details, leaving the audience thoroughly impressed.
