Now some would say Super Bowl parties are all about mass amounts of chicken wings and who gets the chair with the best view of the TV, but it doesn’t have to stop there! We are here with some tips on throwing your best at-home Super Bowl bash and taking the celebration to the next level.
To set the mood right off the bat, send out “Choose a Side” invites, asking guests to wear their favorite team’s color. This will get the competitive juices flowing from the moment they walk in the door and see your football themed decor (download templates for free here). There are also many easy and inexpensive ways to make the party special; from mini nerf footballs strewn across the tables to having foam fingers on hand for celebrating.
And then aside from chicken wings, any Super Bowl party is really all about the food! Some will go the way of buffets or family style entrees, but we recommend doing a variety of appetizers that can be passed or left on TV tables around the house. This will give people more options of tasty treats and also give you more flexibility of different dishes to cook. We love these Food Network pork sliders for the carnivores and Roasted Poblano Pepper quesadillas for the veggie lovers. If you’re trying to be on the healthier side, there are still delicious options for you! From Black Bean Nacho Pizza to a (miraculously) low-fat Cheesy Chicken Quesadilla.
You can also make the eating atmosphere festive. Yes, we’re still talking about food here, and we recommend creating a “super” cheese board with a chalk board base to include the cheese names and also the best “plays” for each pairing. Or use the commercial breaks for fun games like commercial bingo and more!
And of course, the best way to finish off the evening is with a sweet dessert for all…winners and losers.
