This might be our inner “basic girl” coming out, but we love pumpkin season over at L&C. It signals the start of fall like no other flavor, provides the ultimate Instagram photo prop, and is the symbol of one of our favorite holidays. So this year, we are helping you rock your most pumpkin-y day of the year with fun products, delicious recipes and more…
We would be remiss not to mention the OG fall herald: The Starbucks Pumpkin Spice Latte. It’s an obvious choice but no pumpkin round-up would be complete without it. Start your day with a cup made at up home to avoid lines and hide from the fall crispness a bit longer. And learn more about our favorite fall coffee!
Don’t know what food to pair with your PSL? Don’t worry, we have just the right taste combo! Snack on these Pumpkin Patch Puffs, made with Reese’s Puffs Cereal. The chocolatey peanut butter goodness the a great mid-morning snack, and you’ll be the hero of your office if you bring these babies in. Plus, even for the baking challenged (like us) they’re easy to make!
Eventually you will have to leave for work, so make sure you go with your prettiest face on. Our favorite pumpkin products for this year are the Dermalogica Pure Light SPF 50 and Pure Night lotions, both of which contain pumpkin extracts. They help reduce the appearance of brown spots, having you all fresh faced for fall.
After work happy hours are a must to kick off the weekend, but after a long day, sometimes you need to treat yourself in a little bit more elevated fashion. And that means it’s time for a spa day! Many spas and salons, including The Spa at Trump in downtown Chicago, are using pumpkin in spa treatments this fall. The pumpkin enzymes help remove cellular buildup and have natural exfoliators to slough away dead skin. The Spa at Trump’s Pumpkin Enzyme Peel Facial is a powerful but gentle facial that has pumpkin working as a natural “Pac Man” for your face; getting rid of all the bad, dead skin and leaving you all shiny and new. Plus, a complimentary lip or brow wax is included, along with a truly relaxing shoulder and even foot massage (ya girl fell asleep it was so nice). And then you are met after the treatment with a glass of champagne because #blessed
And of course, finish the day with a cocktail that Charlie Brown creator Charles Schultz would approve of. Because pumpkins isn’t just a dessert ingredient! Bar Manager Caitlin Mackey from The Restaurant at Wente Vineyards has created a delicious cocktail for us for the season, and it’s simple to make for you…or for the whole gang!
