Today is the ultimate musical and festival day of the year in the Windy City. It is a day where stars can be born, stars can be boo-ed and crop tops will abound. I’m talking, of course, about the first day of another…Lollapalooza. And while the festival itself is quite an event, there are still plenty of things to do in and around the weekend to get your Lolla juices flowing! There are fashion, food and beauty deals to be had and events to attend, and we have the top spots here…
Before the music starts pumping, you have to be festival fashion ready! Goldplaited in Lincoln Park is the perfect place to go for festival hairstyles that promise to keep you cool and styling all weekend long. Their popular drystyle (or “trendstyles” as they call them!) are only $30 and they have glittery makeup and accessories for purchase that would go perfectly with a faux hawk (yes they can do that for you!) and tie dye.
Then start the festival weekend off right with a stop by Casual Friday’s official Lollapalooza pop up shop, Lollashop, in Block 37 through August 3rd. Stock up on Lollapalooza’s most coveted merchandise and grab a sassy chic tank or tee with a saying that will definitely make a statement on the concert grounds. Or, if you’re not even going to make it to the event, you can still get in the spirit at their pop up at Sofia boutique on Walton Street.
Then on Saturday, GUESS Eyewear and favorite New York-based fashion blogger, Danielle Bernstein of We Wore What will be hosting a GUESS event at their Michigan Avenue store in partnership with Teen Vogue. Danielle will be decked out in her personal style picks from GUESS’ music festival-ready summer collection, including sunnies, and will give a sneak peak at the coolest things to wear and do while frolicking around Chicago! At the event, from 2 – 4 pm, guests can model GUESS shades to capture how they #SeeDifferently in a Photo Booth, while dancing to the DJ spinning all the cool songs of the weekend.
