With NYFW winding down, there were almost too many fashion happenings for us to keep up with. From MK & A’s adorably awkward vine video to Nicki Minaj and the models at Alexander Wang twerking to “Anaconda,” NYC’s little fashion bubble sure has been busy.
Here are our four favorite fashion stories from the week:
1. This NYFW, Opening Ceremony opted out of the typical runway show and instead put on a 45 minute play poking fun at the industry and showing off its adventurous new collection. With stars like: Elle Fanning, Dree Hemingway, Rashida Jones, and Karlie Kloss, you know this will be one of the most talk about highlights of fashion week (Fashionista).
2. Alexander Wang x H&M fans got a treat in Vogue Netherlands as the issue released six images of the upcoming collaboration. In true AW form the pieces screamed sporty chic in simple black and white hues with everything from illusion-striped dresses to mesh accents. The whole look kinda makes you want to grab boxing gloves and hit the gym, in the chicest outfit you own of course (Racked).
3. This years Marc Jacobs runway show was a little different than most—for one the models wore no makeup (what?!) and the bubble-gum pink background was the opposite of the straight faced, militarian esque feel of the show. The audience even wore Beats by Dre headphones (to drown out the fashion week chatter we suppose). Luckily the show was live-streamed so you can watch and pretend you’re sharing headphones front row with Anna Wintour (Fashionista).
4. While all the fashionistas gathered at Lincoln Center on Tuesday, Britney Spears was in midtown at the New York Public Library debuting her new lingerie line, the Intimate Britney Spears (because in fashion it’s totally normal to present a lingerie collection at a library). While there weren’t any I’m-a-Slave-for-you esque dance moves, there were plenty of lace ensembles to buy if you ever wanted to channel your inner Britney (Vanity Fair).
