If there’s one accessory secret all bloggers seem to share, it’s a love for rings. Whether they’re going the classic Lauren Conrad route and layering dainty gold rings on their fingers or opting for a bolder Erin Wasson-esque look with chunky silver pieces, they know just how to pair their favorite pieces together for a perfectly styled look. If you want to jump on the ring bling bandwagon and are wondering just how to pair your favorite cocktail ring with some cool stacking bands, scroll through for our 6 tips on stacking your rings like a pro (aka like the bloggers that aced the tend).
- Stack ‘Em High
While the unspoken rule for rings used to be to limit one per finger, stacking rings are made to layer. When you start to put on your rings in the morning, keep the larger, thicker rings at the base of your finger and move up to the thinner rings. While there are exceptions to every rule, we usually like to use 3 per finger as a rule of thumb.
2. Mix It Up
Throw a little bit of a bohemian edge into your look by adding a few statement jewels to your ring bling. We love this image because of how she alternated between thin bands and funky statement jewels for an eclectic look.
3. Nail It
Accessorizing is all about how each piece complements each other. While your rings will be the main focus, you don’t want your nails to take second stage. Choose a nail color that will complement your rings. Tip: if you’re adding rings with a lot of color, go with a neutral nail color like beige or white so as to not overpower the look.
4. Add a Pop of Color
Your nails don’t have to be the only color you have on your fingers– you can play with the color of your ring selection too. First choose a color palette to go off of, and then balance them out with midi rings that complement the design. For example, this blogger chose a cool color palette with different shades of blue and grey to accessorize her fingers.
5. Choose Your Metal
When it comes to stacking rings, it’s best to keep it in the same metal family. Mixing silver, bronze, and gold will look too chaotic and will take away from the overall look.
6. Play with Shapes
Don’t be afraid to get geometric. Mix dainty triangle and arrow rings with bold diamond bands for a fun twist on a classic look.
