This month, we’re focusing on all the wonderful ways women can, and do, give back every day. To prove that everyone and anyone has time to do lend a helping hand, we’ve tapped some of the busiest, most successful women we know to find out how they give back, in the hopes they’ll inspire us all to find creative ways to do good.
Founder & Owner of Leah Chavie Skincare Boutique
Causes I Work With & How I Help: We donate to about every silent auction or raffle whenever we have the opportunity. As of recently we have donated our time, services, and more to the Bear Tie Gala; BeHealthFul: Spring Awkening Event; Dina Manzo, from the Real Housewives of New Jersey, is in Chicago and we will be doing the makeup supporting her LadyBug foundation for Colmer Children’s Hospital. I am also passionate about and support on a regular basis the Ronald McDonald foundation plus countless others.
Why I’m passionate about these causes: I have experienced many things in my life, and I work with a lot of people who open up to me due to the environment I surround myself in. I am personally passionate about Suicide Prevention and building awareness on causes that support survivors. Something I have personally experienced is dealing with a loss and for me that triggers my passion to give back. This does not limit one cause, so I support and pamper them all.
Why it’s important to make time to give back: In my line of work, I am providing a service that allows my clients to better themselves. I find it necessary to give back and to support my clients, daily, both in my boutique and around the city. If I can provide a moment, or lifetime, of stress relief and build their confidence I find that’s where my passion lies for these causes. Every day I give back to my clients and will continue to support them as well as their causes.
How others can help: The Ronald McDonald House needs so much support. There is lots of info on their website about getting involved: http://rmhccni.org.
