Since January 1 alone, Gilt.com has offered deals on everything from Louboutin stilettos and Saint Laurent handbags, to Missoni Umbrellas and Versace scarves. But, even when hawking such omggetinmycloset names, there’s still the occasional it bag or vintage bauble that the flash sale site doesn’t sell. Now, imagine that a year’s worth of those designer leftovers have been gathered in one spot, and marked down up to 90 percent…and you’ve just pictured your Saturday afternoon, because Gilt City’s legendary Boston warehouse sale is this weekend at Artists for Humanity in Southie.
If you’ve been, you know you can’t miss it, and if you haven’t been, here are a few of the reasons to check it out:
-There will be seriously discounted men’s, women’s and children’s clothing, shoes and accessories, plus home decor, all in once place.
-It only costs $10
-There will be complimentary snacks. Because this is a sprint, and a marathon.
-There will be a bar, sponsored by La Marca Prosecco and also featuring Whitehaven Wine and New Amsterdam Vodka. But remember, alcohol is wallet lube, and beer goggles apply to handbags, too, so keep your wits about you.
To help you further navigate the Boston warehouse sale, Bre Garcia Dale, Gilt City Boston’s Senior Curator, offered us the following tips:
Early Bird Gets The Worm. Buy your tickets early to get your ideal time slot – but don’t be heartbroken if you don’t get one of the earlier sessions. We are constantly restocking and replenishing inventory!
Plan Ahead. Before you even go to the sale – make a list of upcoming events – ie. birthdays, anniversaries, parties, and go into the sale with a plan. You’ll leave with some steals for those special occasions.
Plastic Please. No cash. Bring your debit or credit cards!
Think Ahead. Don’t be afraid to shop for future seasons. It’s a great chance to score designer ski or swimwear.
Take a Risk. Always been afraid to invest in a high priced trend? Now’s your chance to score those trends for less, so go with an open mind.
Ladies, start your engines.
