We’re finally in the home stretch of Winter, (welp, here’s to hoping) and with the tail-end of February, can come some seasonal blues and a serious lack of motivation. Our New Year’s Resolutions aren’t holding the same clout as in January, and I’ve often been finding myself favoring a night of Netflix and wine binging over trekking across the Chiberian tundra to make it to the gym.
But with Spring on-deck, now’s the time to dig up the last of our motivation, and make sure the debut of our spring closet (what is a skirt? I’ve forgotten) fits even better than it did last year. We’ve rounded up some up and coming fitness trends to help you stay inspired and carry those resolutions into March!
1. Studio Lagree
Looking for a workout that makes a difference after just one time? Look no further! Studio Lagree, in Lincoln Park, utilizes machinery that combines the best of strength training and a little cardio to work muscles you didn’t even know existed. It’s easy to manipulate weight- whether lower modifications or adding resistance to maximize the effects of your workout. Plus, it’s an unbeatable exercise for your core- each move, whether targeting legs, arms, etc., will shred your abs in a way that you’ll hate yourself the next day, but thank yourself during bikini season.
When has something packed with nutritional value actually tasted good? Um, like, never. Yuve, invented by former Russian ballerina, Lola Sherunkova, wanted to create a lo-cal option for a healthy lifestyle that was packed with nutrition. Her delicious shakes only have 155 calories, and boast 16 grams of protein, 4 grams of fiber as well as an impressive amount of organic plants and fruits. Plus, it tastes magical when you combine with some almond milk.
Call it the shopaholic in me, but I’m way more likely to hit the gym if I’m rocking some new attire and I’ve recently found a new brand that’s helping me do just that: RYU. Offering an array of bright colors, unique detailing and a great fit, RYU just overtook Nike as my go-to fitness brand. They have incredible pieces for outdoor activities and their workout tops are the most flattering I’ve ever bought (but really, you guys- this top though). Another up and coming workout accessory is clutch especially during hot yoga: the Cool Flash Pad. It’s a lifesaver that utilizes pressure activated gel to cool your body during or after a workout.
