Henri Bendel. An iconic and enviable name in fashion, even for a Chicago girl like me. And while that name has always been synonymous with a luxurious lifestyle, there is a whole new meaning to that way of living thanks to the brand’s latest jewelry line, and their newest spring accessories.
The Henri Bendel name and brand has been around for a little longer than a New York minute (since 1895 to be exact), but since 2009 the brand has focused on producing only the best and brightest accessories, purses and jewelry for their clients. It’s a bold move to transition away from clothing, but based on recent collections, it’s allowed the classic New York brand to thrive and become more accessible to customers across the globe. Everyone wants a little bit of that Big Apple style after all!
This season, Bendel takes it up another notch with Henri Bendel Luxe, the newest line of premium jewelry, which plays on this spring’s metals trend with a sea of silver, gold and rose gold pieces that are delicate in their design but strong in their hardware. The line is inspired by the look of fine jewelry but with a more affordable price tag. It’s an update on the glamorous sparklers of the past; from long strings of necklaces that would have been at home around a flapper’s neck to big and bold rings and earrings that women of the ’80s would’ve loved.
On the other end of the spring accessories spectrum are pieces that are more whimsical and girly. From this month’s “Color Crush” (valencia orange) to a sea of sparkly art deco jewels, this line is perfect for girls already splurging on designers like Kate Spade and Michael Kors. Branch out and try the Luxe Round Semi precious Cuff Bracelet or be trendy and layer up rings like the Luxe Spike Midi Ring Set.
My favorites from the spring line are the amazing collar necklace that is the Party Starter Collar and the Waldorf Cocktail Cuff, which is perfect for a fancy brunch with the girls (both above). I also love the entire new Whitney collection of bags, which are sleek and the perfect day to night bags in a few neutral but warm colors for the sunnier weather.
Bendel’s creative director Pina Ferlisi’s top choices for the spring play on these pastels, but still stay true to the iconic Bendel stripe. And it can be used in so many ways! From a cocktail tray for entertaining to chic flip flops for the beach babe to a classic day carrying case.
Any of these beauties, striped or otherwise, will make for a very fashionable spring indeed! But don’t take my word for it, or Bendel’s, just take a look right here.
