I’ve always said that the more the music played in a spin class makes me feel like I’m in a nightclub–or a rap video– the harder I pedal. It’s just what I like.
That’s one reason I’m hooked on Southie’s new spin studio, The Handle Bar (which I talked about earlier), after my first class there last week. The studio’s owner, Jess Bashelor, is part Jillian Michaels, part DJ Pauly D.
To further blur the line between dance party and workout, this Thursday, August 29, The Handle Bar is hosting its first Glo Cycle class. The 45-minute workout will be hosted by a live DJ, and before the class starts, you’ll get a black-and-neon t-shirt and a glow-in-the-dark bracelet to wear while you ride in the dark. If you like your spin classes like I do, this might be your new favorite workout ever.
