If you’re one of the unlucky few who, like me, are still having skin issues as an adult (from acne to dryness to redness), you know that finding a good regime can be tough. Lots of them are crazy expensive in order to take care of all your needs, some of them have weird ingredients you can’t pronounce, and still others dry the crap out of your skin. Finding something clean, effective and gentle to put on your face shouldn’t be THIS hard! That’s why I jumped at the chance to try Belli Beauty. It’s so clean that dermatologists recommend it for women during pregnancy, but so effective that even works on adult acne. This is a skincare regime I can get behind…
After testing out the soothing, and honestly great-smelling, face wash, we spoke with Marketing Coordinator Erin Kiely for more information. Belli might be good for pregnant ladies, but it’s also great for everyone before and after that stage of life! Read on for proof…
What makes Belli Beauty different from other brands?
Belli Beauty is designed with safety in mind. We want women of all ages to feel worry-free when putting any of our products on their skin. This is why Belli is dermatologist and OBGYN recommended, teratology and LactMed screened, and is artificial dyes and fragrance free, gluten free, phthalates free, cruelty free, paraben free, and allergy tested. All of these things help us keep our high ingredient standards while offering you beautiful skin and peace of mind, at any life stage.
How does the Anti-Blemish Facial Wash work to target adult acne especially?
Lactic Acid is the main ingredient in our Anti Blemish Facial Wash. This product is especially good for adult acne because lactic acid is not over drying like many acne fighting ingredients we commonly see on shelves, such as salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide. Not only does lactic acid help fight breakouts, but it also fights aging by reversing the effects of free radicals on your skin.
What are ingredients we should look for on labels when buying acne washes or lotions?
Stay away from artificial dyes and fragrances, parabens, and phthalates. Look for essential oils and antioxidants. At Belli, our luxurious aromatherapy comes only from essential oils that have many health benefits.
How should our skincare regime change as we age?
Make sure to use products that incorporate anti-aging ingredients and most importantly, wear a daily sunscreen! Moisturize your face and neck morning and night with an antioxidant-rich moisturizer and avoid products that cause drying. Some good products to start with are Belli Vitamin Enriched Brightening Duo and Belli Pure Radiance Facial Sunscreen.
What factors contribute to adult acne?
Many factors contribute to adult acne including hormones, stress, genetics, medication side effects, diet, and other products that may touch your skin like cosmetics or cleaning supplies.
How is it different from the skin issues we might have had as teens?
As teens, we get acne from some of the same reasons as adults, like stress and hormones. In addition, teens are more prone to acne because of sweating from exercise and constantly sharing with other students or teammates. Adult acne is different because it could result in permanent damage. In our youth, our skin recovers very easily, but as adults, our skin is more prone to permanent acne scars and spots. It is important to use sunscreen, moisturize, and drink plenty of water as a kid, teen, and adult to best prepare your face for life.
How can we make our makeup routine work to support our skincare regime?
Always, always, always keep skincare at a higher priority than makeup! Make sure to purchase makeup for your specific skin type and always prime your face after your skin care regime. I always use Belli Healthy Glow Facial Hydrator on my face and neck before applying primer and makeup. I suggest looking for a makeup with an SPF in it to avoid aging and wrinkles.
