After checking out all the beauty trends from the fashion week runways a few weeks back, I couldn’t wait to start revamping my lipstick game. I always find that lipstick is the perfect way to make a statement, whether it’s with a bold red or a classic pink lip, you can’t go wrong with a little color (I actually never leave home without it!).
Since April is around the corner and we’re all starting to brighten up our wardrobes, now is the perfect time to start thinking about which lip colors you’ll be sporting this season, too. Here are just five of my favorite lipstick shades for the season:
1. If you’re feeling romantic:
Soft berry lips were a big trend from Spring Fashion Week. Michael Kors and Rebecca Minkoff all rocked the same pink hue for their shows and we can’t help but be on board with the trend. Try it with bold brows and a dewy complexion and you’ve got the perfect day or night look.

2. If you’re feeling adventurous:
When I think of orange lips, I picture a dramatic Spice-Girls esqe pout, but this season, you can sport this trend without releasing your inner “Wannabe.” By using a more matte color, you’ll get a tropical vibe to your lips instead of that show-stopping orange color, that you’re trying to avoid.

3. If you feel like taking it easy:
Nude lips are sometimes the best way to go, especially if you’re making a statement with your other makeup. If you’re working the smoky eye next Friday night, instead of a bold red lip, tone it down with a simple nude. Even though nude lips might not add any extra color, every girl knows that it adds just the right amount of glow to your lip.

4. If you’re feeling bold:
My favorite lip color has always been a deep plum color (the darker the better!), and this season I don’t have to stash it away until the cooler weather comes. The trick is to pick a shade with a bit of gloss, so it stays playful enough to wear during the day.
What to get: Estée Lauder Pure Color High Gloss in Vixen Plum
5. If you’re feeling girly:
I can’t think of a better way to welcome in spring than with lavender lipstick. If Katherine Heigl can rock this muted shade in Wish Upon a Star, you can too!
