I love Boston. We’ve got great shopping, our restaurants are top-notch, and our neighborhoods are arguably the most charming in America (seriously, where will you find more adorable streets than in Cambridge, Beacon Hill and the South End?).
We also have plenty of awesome style bloggers in town: I’m obsessed with Erin Gates’s Elements of Style, I can always count on Marissa Berenson at The Well Appointed Catwalk for a unique viewpoint on style and design, and L’s Fashion Dish provides instant wardrobe inspiration when I’m feeling none myself.
All that being said, however, I’m also a huge follower of fashion and style blogs in other cities – I love to see what’s going on around the country, style wise at least. Here, four blogs I can’t get enough of from Chicago, San Francisco, Brooklyn and–wild card!–McKinney, Texas.
See Jane : By day, Anna Jane Derkin is a stylist at Chicago startup The Trunk Club, which is a service that basically sends guys head-to-toe outfits in the mail so they don’t have to shop. Her styling talent isn’t limited to men, though. She has phenomenal, ladylike taste and a great ability to put fun, feminine pieces together.
Late Afternoon: In terms of fashion blogging, Blaire Eadie of Atlantic-Pacific was always the big news out of San Francisco. But since Eadie recently decamped for New York, I’m thinking Liz Cherkasova of Late Afternoon is about to take over as the queen of Nor-Cal fashion blogging. Cherkasova’s style is decidedly California-girl (and a far-cry from Eadie’s): she has a bohemian, hippie style which is especially refreshing to those of us living in the Northeast.
Brooklyn Blonde: When I think of Brooklyn style, I instantly think “hipster.” While Helena Glazer’s wardrobe certainly has a cool-girl edge, she doesn’t hit you over the head with hipster-ism, and instead goes for eclectic pairings of feminine, tough and classic pieces.
Kendi Everyday: Kendi Skeen documents her style on her blog Kendi Everyday. The number one reason I love it: her looks are attainable and real-world wearable. Kendi’s outfits will give you great ideas for styling pieces you probably already own.
Happy style stalking!
