It’s that time of year again- when we all sport corporate chic green to work, and exchange our usual vodka sodas for a pint of Guinness! Whether Irish, or anything but Irish (like myself), St. Patrick’s Day is one of the most celebrated annual holidays, and even that is an understatement if you live in the Windy City. From restaurant specials, to drink specials, all the way to the fuzzy green socks I recently purchased, St. Patty’s Day is a celebration of heritage that can’t be missed.
In good ‘ol Irish tradition, every year on March 16th, I’ll glance over my closet to pick out a green article of clothing for the following day. And every year, without fail, a crushing realization will hit that my Pinterest closet only exists in the confines of my laptop, and with it, the perfect St. Patty’s outfit I had planned in my head can’t actually be found in my real closet.
This year, I decided to be proactive, and hit up some fellow Chicago bloggers because their closets are my Pinterest dreams come to life. Both Megan Patterson of Sparkles and Sprinkles, and Katie Niemiec of Little Black Blog met up with me to do their own fabulous spin of St. Patty’s green. Together, we’re showing off our three favorite ways to sport it for the upcoming festivities!
1. Layer It Up
Megan is playing up spring trends, along with sporting some fun green stripes to prep for St. Pat’s. Don’t forgot to add a fun pop of color with some shoes like these from J.Crew!
2. Accessorize. Accessorize. Accessorize.
Katie’s all about showing her green spirit with some killer jewelry. I’m currently obsessing over these from Bauble Bar.
3. Add An Edge
I’m dressing up my green with some black leather leggings because they’re stretchy (and therefore awesome), and because I found this killer pair at Akira.
Happy Early St. Patty’s, L&C loves! For more crafting/ closet & career inspiration, be sure to check out Megan & Katie’s blogs! Fair warning: they’re dangerously addicting.
